![]() Most starships carried a nav computer of some sort, though some starfighters made do with only the astrogation buffer of an astromech droid. Navicomputers would calculate data like the exact destination, the quickest and safest route to it, and the number of hyperspace jumps necessary. They could manage within-sector routes, but likely not cross-sector jumps." Travelin' through hyperspace ain't like dustin' crops, boy! Without precise calculations we could fly right through a star or bounce too close to a supernova, and that'd end your trip real quick, wouldn't it?" ―Han Solo, to Luke Skywalker Ī navigation computer, also known as an astrogation computer, navicomputer, navicomp, or nav computer, was a device that made the careful calculations necessary to navigate through hyperspace. Ship Building aside, what happens if the player's existing navicomputer breaks/gets stolen? How do they find a replacement?Īn astromech, as far as I can tell, usually just interfaces with the navicomputer as they don't have enough on board memory to house coordinates for complex routes on their own. ![]() I'd like to follow the rules instead of just brute forcing it through the data editor. If I choose to build a ship, though, using the Character > Vehicles method, all the frames have "Navicomputer: No" set and there seems to be no way to set it to yes (even though all of the pre-loaded ships are set to yes when applicable). If I work the magic that is OggDude's Character Generator tool suite, I can see it's possible if I hack it through the data editor. I see that hyperdrives are attachments with mods (Tie Fighters don't have that attachment, X-Wings do) but there is no mention at all of the base "navicomputer" itself. ![]() I've used the shipbuilding rules from "Fully Operational" but don't see a way to add a navicomputer. TLDR: How do I add a navicomputer to a ship?Īs a GM, I've built a custom ship for my players. ![]() Thanks for your patience as I find the right thread, etc. ![]()
